_nology was proud to sponsor ADS Engage 2025, and Eva Perkins, our UK Director, shares her key takeaways from the event.

Reflecting on the recent ADS Engage 2025 event, hosted at the incredible Williams Grand Prix Technologies facility and proudly sponsored by _nology, I am energised by the depth of discussion and forward-thinking insights shared throughout the day.

The event explored cutting-edge advancements in the defence sector, including the role of simulation in predicting development and reaction times, the strategic use of data to drive decision-making, and the integration of AI, digital tools, and testing. These conversations reinforced just how critical innovation is in shaping the future of defence.

I had the privilege of speaking about one of the biggest challenges in the industry, finding great talent. In a sector that demands both technical expertise and agile problem-solving, we need to think beyond conventional hiring routes. I discussed diversity of thought, bringing talented individuals into the sector from different careers, equipping them with the skills they need to thrive in tech.

To bring this to life, I introduced the audience to Francesca, an incredible tech consultant who transitioned from estate agent to defence consultant. Her story is a powerful example of how transferable skills, such as problem-solving, adaptability, and a service mindset, can be leveraged to drive impact in tech. The room was captivated by her journey, reinforcing the idea that great talent exists in unexpected places.

The day was filled with insightful contributions, including the Williams Grand Prix Technologies panel (PANEL MEMBERS), which showcased the fascinating crossover between motorsport innovation and applications. Additionally, Dina Kakaras, MoD Defence Digital’s Commercial, Procurement, and Transformation Director, shared invaluable perspectives on digital transformation in the MOD.

This event reaffirmed why we are so passionate about building new talent pathways. By embracing diversity of thought and empowering individuals from varied backgrounds to transition into tech, we can unlock fresh perspectives, drive innovation, and future-proof the sector.

It was a privilege to be part of the conversation, and I look forward to continuing to challenge traditional thinking when it comes to talent in defence. tech and beyond.
