Our expert trainers will be coaching you LIVE, providing you with the same quality teaching and support. We have adapted a specific daily structure to ensure our trainees can continue learning and thrive through our immersive online program.

Thinking of joining us in May 2020? Here's a taste of how your days will look:

Morning

Each morning we will all gather via Google Meet for a friendly morning catch up.

Our coaches will launch into the session, teaching you the week’s concepts, such as how classes work with JS and OOP, what is a noSQL database or how to conduct yourself during a technical interview.

Once the new concept has been introduced we take you through a codealong to show you how to use your new skill in a project. We use VSCode Liveshare combined with Google Meet to present and share the code.

Our coaches are on hand for discussions and one-to-ones should you need any help or advice throughout the session.

Breaks

We know breaks are important during intense study so we make sure we give you frequent breaks to re-hydrate, get outside and stretch before starting again.

Afternoon

The afternoons are based around larger project work. During the first few weeks you’ll work on portfolio projects to help showcase to prospective employers at a later stage. When you have gathered enough base skills you will move onto a real client project (yes – even remotely!). These projects are picked by your course intake and when the client project is finished, we use the afternoons for larger challenges, group reviews and quality assessment sessions.

When the course day is over we encourage you to work on whatever you find interesting. Some people build games or working applications, some use this time to build something with the concept they found the hardest to solidify their understanding.

Friday

On Friday each week we have an industry professional dial in and give a talk about something they think will interest and be of benefit to our trainee’s. We have had speakers from many different areas, such as CTOs of large insurance firms or entrepreneurs that have set up their own successful tech business. It’s a great time to get inspired and ask questions!

Each Friday you’ll also be demoing what you have been working on to the guest speaker and the client (when on the client project). This is an opportunity to gather feedback on the application as well as improve your presenting and communication skills.

We use agile frameworks and techniques during our course. We believe retrospectives are one of the most important activities on an Agile project, so we make sure we do one every Friday. The Retrospective allows us to take a step back and reflect on the week, analyse what has gone well as individuals and as a group and what we can do to improve the quality of the course and improve individuals learning.

It’s also an opportunity to grab a drink, sit back and check in on your course mates.

We are proud of the bonds our trainees make over the course of the 12-weeks and this will be no different remotely. We will continue to work hard to nurture a supportive environment, which is more important than ever right now. Our coaches and support teams are always on hand for a chat or some advice whenever you need it.
